Technology Challenge: The Leaning Tower of Pasta!

It was our first week back at school after the Christmas Holidays so we enjoyed getting to know each other and building on our group work skills this week!

Mrs Hanson set us a challenge: build the tallest tower in 20 minutes, using only dried spaghetti and 20 marshmallows. We were in groups of 4 and we were allowed to discuss our ideas before the time started. 

It was very challenging and some of us found it frustrating! When we finished our towers, we posed some 'I wonder' questions. Ryan wondered how the Leaning Tower of Pisa stays up. Jake wondered if he had toothpicks instead of pasta would it have been easier. The tallest tower created was 45cm high.
